Most of Us Are
When you think of America,
don’t think only of the movies and art,
the fights that keep us apart,
or our occasional arrogance.
Despite everything,
think of us
as a work in progress,
like a script still being written,
like a dream still in production.
Think of most of us,
carrying,
somewhere within us,
a little part of Dolly’s heart.
